In the year 1995, A. Gowri Shankar completed his Bachelor of Engineering at Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, Tamil Nadu. Later, during 2001-2003, He completed his Master degree in Professional Communication (Interactive Multimedia Technologies) from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia.

In 1999, He joined as lecturer in Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Pollachi. Before joining here, He was working in software development industry for 4 years. In addition to department activities, he is a member of International Study Centre, Library Advisory Committee and development activities of the campus computing facilities and networking. He is also coordinating software development team and prometric centre.

He is a life member in the Indian Society of Technical Education and Computer Society of India. He is also working as local contact for CISCO Regional Academy for Dr. MCMCS.
